I have a pumpkin thats growing great with a circ. of about 78 inches, only thing is it looks like the white nub on the blossom end(where the lobes are) is going to fall off,the pumpkin around this area is solid and its still gaining around 27 lbs a day. Do you think this will hurt it? And do they sometimes fall off?
thanks,
Brooks

My puppy ate the blossom of my state fair fruit when it was around 25-30 days old or so. It is now at day 54 and knocking on 1000 lbs. Dust it with some fungacide (captain) and forget it. Best of luck. MF

i had to cut the belly button off my 723 this year. it was getting soft from an apparent fungus infection that started just before the flower part fell off. i trimmed it as near to the fruit as i dared, and powdered it with captan. healed up, looking good, and still growing fast.

Don't dust your 1000 pound, 54 day old, puppy with fungicide!
