Marty, I feel your pain, 102 here and the heat index HOT! Rain, 7 tenth since mid May and It seems to just sit in the 90's, so your not alone. Keep your head up to the sky and if you get some of that moisture send it my way please Gene McMullen

we are also having a rough first yr but if me and sis can get thru this yr it means we are surviors we have had little rain and are on a well so water is being safley monitored here its flowers or showers. Are pumpkins are okay though todays record heat was brutal but the patch held up so far lets hope for a weather break and rain.

One of the hottest and driest summers EVER on record. Ya 103 here yesterday also. We are pushing 30 days this summer with highs over 90 degrees. Last yr you could count the 90 and above days on one hand and always had atleast an inch of water in the rain gauge. This yr is a complete opposite and the rain gauge is starting to crack and fall apart from baking in the hot sunn and no moisture days.

I had two days last week at 107, and no issues with the plants or change in fruit growth. On fruit slowed and I thought it was just the heat, but non of the other have slowed. Each year, my average high is 90-95.

Is there wet stuff that falls from the sky? I have to haul mine from a creek down the road. It would save me a lot of time if it did. Next you'll be telling me you have a money tree in the back yard.

The National Weather Service yesterday said that in the Quad Cities this is the driest summer ever recorded. Drier than 1988 and much drier than the the Dust Bowl years. Let's hope they got some rain last night and will get more today.
