I have a fruit at day 14 at 45" circ. on the main vine at 17' out and one on an early secondary at 29" after day 11. I know to get a big one I need to cut one off. Is it time and do I cut the one on the secondary? I do have 2 other plants with one growing one that was 22" at 10 days. The other plant has 2 that were just pollinated 2 days ago. Is it time to gamble and try to just grow a big one on the main?

keep both on until the first pumpkin gets to be around 60 inches circumference. If by this time it is still growing well and looking good, cut the second pumpkin off if you want to go for one big one. Most growers cut off pumpkins over 2 or 3 days, a little cut deeper and deeper though the stem. If you cut the other pumpkin off all at once, it can create a giant push in one day to the other pumpkin and possibly blow it up if it grows too fast. Keeping both on for this time won't hurt your end weight. Jimmy
