Just wait until you find out the better placement, of spray materal, gives you more complete coverage and you get better results.

I told myself i was going to try this this year, and this post just reminded me of it. I want to let every vine grow out,(Just like I usually do) Then im going to take every other vine and cut the leaves off at ground level, that way i will still have the roots working for me and more space to work.

Do you think the roots will dye off quick if i only have the secondary vine and roots left growing(No leaves). What do ya think????

no the roots will not die off i would think ,but if theres no leafs on a vine i would wonder how much a leafles vine is helping the process

plus, the more cuts you make during humid conditions the more you are giving disease chances to be taken in

in the future i would advise not letting the secondary grow at all if you want an every other side vine plant
by doing this method the plant will grow its sides that much faster

Brooks, gotta go with pap on this one!!!! You still have to work around the vine,,,,well I say let the vine be the solar panels you need...I think if the vine has leaves on it, it would be a stronger source...I cut every other side when I can!

some of us in limited areas don't have the luxury to adhear to any simple thing like everyother secondary, when things get cramped its time to chop chop.

This has been an interesting learning year

Since I lost the main vines on 2 plants earlier in the season, I´m happy I still have all my secondaries to go with...

I was thinking about the every other leaf pruning recently, Ben. My mainvine is heading south, and the south leaves on each vine are angled toward the sun. I was thinking that pruning the other half of the leaves, may be a good stategy. I won't be doing it this year, but if I had a lot of room, and time, I would experiment with it.
