Well I just completed 3 pollinations early this mourning, Luckly I got to them all and all were tied and covered before the rain started to come down. My question is I havent done any trimming around the fruits of this plant just yet. I pollinated one 14 ft out on the main vine and another 2 on the second set of secondarys from the stump. The one on the main is the one i plan on keeping down the road if it takes. Would it be wise to cut the secondary vine at the node this fruit is set at? or wait a few days then trim it off? I just dont really want to stress the plant any causeing aborts as my pollinations are already a bit late for the season.
when do most of you trim the leaf and secondary growth at the node were the fruit is pollinated? Before pollination after ext?
thanks Dave

Wait until you are sure it is past abort or that it is the one, of several, you wish to keep.

If the leaf is in danger of rubbing on the ovary, you may want to cut the leaf, to prevent scratching on your pumpkin. Or you could do what I did, and put a cottonball between the ovary and the leaf stem.

my first year, but I cut the leaf b4 pollination, pretty sure that will not cause abort, I would not be afraid of cutting the little vine as well, as long as you have options for more fruit

Oh ya, Ive got 4 pollinated as of today most are between 1-3 day pollinations. Its the one on the main I plan on keeping not sure if its going to be the 14 ft out or the 17 ft out. at the tip there is another female showing but it will be a later in the week pollination and I dont think i'll pollinate it if these 4 take.
