Not a seasoned grower...but my tip is...READ...READ...READ...and ask ?'s...?'...?'s. The old saying about the only dumb ? is the one you don't ask is prbly true. Lots of helpful folk on this board. Don't be ascairt of askin about stuff. Peace Wayne

The most important lesson I've learned in growing giants is that its the time you put into your garden that is one of the biggest factors determining end weight of your fruit. If you garden is weedy, your vines unpruned and unburied, your fertilizer program spur of the moment, then dont expect 1000lbs.
As with everything, the more you put into it the more you get out of it, and in our case we measure that in pounds. lots of em.
There's no secret to growing a giant pumpkin. Just a lot of hard work and dedication.
