I've seen 10 squash bugs around the patch and lots of eggs.(every 10th leaf) Is there a place the adults live so I can kill them? I think I would have seen a lot more adults for the number of eggs I have. Also, I have black flies in the male flowers. What are those? Are they bad? They look like fruit flies. Thanks for you help!!

Squash Bugs are difficult to control. If you are licensed I'd recommend big guns like Asana, Furadan, Capture, or Warrior.
If a retail offering is all that is available look for Triazicide (active ingredient - Lambda-cyhalothrin).

Thanks for your advice. Do the adults live in the soil and eat the plant or do they live on the plant and eat it?

Ever since I have used Admire, the number of squash bugs in my fields have reduced drastically. This year I have only seen about 10 in my two acre patch.
