Its been good growing weather here in so ca, & my 1104 & my 872 is growing great!!but the 664.5 never did grow to fast but now it has realy slowed < when it should be really growing) iv tryed hitting with mirical grow , also tryed fish , seaweed.The first pumpkin at 10 ft out started very fast, so i wasent worried to cull-for the one at 14 ft out , but one at 14 ft never has really tooken off!!Its at 34 in cir at day 14- which is ok but since plant isent growing im wondering if pumpkin will do very much -- even my wife seed from last yr 672 in only 100 sq ft pollinaded late has caught up in size !! anyone else growing the 664.5 & how is it doing ?? or any comments please!!???

I'm wondering if you have a good pumpkin going ahead of later sets on the same vine, if that one slows the others down? If so, I'd think culling the first one, would result in the next one on the vine to take off(maybe this thinking is wrong). I have 4 fruit on one of my mainvines, the first one at 12' is growing nicely, but the others are barely growing. Maybe the plant has made up it's mind to put most of it's energy into the first fruit, and even after the first one is culled, it still has it's mind made up(if plants had a mind). Or maybe your fruit is going to abort late? If it's your only prospect on that plant, I'd give it time and see what happens. Also could be disease or insect damage as the cause?
I was reading your diary yesterday, and it got me wondering why you culled the one at 10', if it was growing so good? There have been some huge pumpkins grown at 10' and 11' out on the mainvine.
I hope it picks up for you.
You've got some nice pumpkins going.

My was going really slow but I started dumping some 27-0-0 around the plant just outside on the leaf line and it has gone crazy.

I just termanated all secondarys , as they were not healty!!also baby pumpkins on them were shriveled !! i still have pumpkun on plant but starting to dought itll make it, the stem is starting to look crackley,& in morning pumpkin ooses out from tiny holes some substance that looks like crystels!!
