Does Lobe Size and number of lobes have any bearing on the final fruit size? On 7-10 my first female had 5 large lobes and this mornings female had 10 large lobes. Thanks.

See the article in the "How to" section, Pollination of the Atlantic Giant, by Wayne Hackney. 3/4ths of the way down he talks about number of Carpals (lobes) and realtive pumpkin size. In sum, it probbally doent matter, though that seems to be in direct contrast to popular rummors and opinions.

Hope this helps.

10 lobes?! take a picture! errr, well, maybe when you remove the flower remains....
oh, i do not think the number or size or even most deformities of the lobes make a difference concerning the end-weight....i have heard the 1140 Stelts was a 4-lobe fruit, and what does that tell me?

like a car;
seats 5, seats 6, so what.
as long as it gets ME there.....eric
