One of my plants that is currently 15 ft out the vine tip has stoped growing and its now just a bunch of flowers is this the end of this plant? or could this be caused by a month of heat 90-100 and NO rain?
On a good note, Ive got one female set out around the 13ft mark on this plant and it seems to be growing ok.
and its now FINALLY raining, we have recieved 10 mm already in the last 5 hours and another 10-15 overnight.
this should get things back up and going again.

i have secondaries that do that sometimes. they just turn into this mass of growth tips and flowers and stop growing. It's not normal, but it doens't seem to hurt anything. You could let some secondaries grow some terts to fill in the extra space if there is any, or train a sec. as a new main. Whatever works.

Dave, is it possible the heat has damaged the growing tip just enough to halt new vine growth. I have one of with this problem. Having lost the tip I will train tha nearest side vine to take its place.

On a couple of plants I have very few secondaries that formed(longer than 6", I believe due to this same termination into a cluster of male flowers. I'm guessing it is environmental. In my other garden, my A.G. has put out secondaries at every node(except I recently noticed a later secondary on it, that is a runt). Could this be due to a nitrogen defiency? Last year my plant had at least three secondaries that quite at 6' due to the same thing.

3 weeks ago my main vine stopped for 3 or 4 days while the secondaries grew. Then it took off again.

assuming nothing bad hit it or anything, thats the plants way of self terminating the vine.... Whats the genetics on this plant? The 805 pukos likes to do this.

My 924 Kuhn which I was growing for male blossoms is doing the same thing at the ends of its secondaries. Main is growing fine. I was wondering if it was due to the poor soil it was planted in.

Sounds like heat or chemical damage to the main's tip. Are there any secondary vines that still have normal tips? I so, you might grow one into a new main and treat this plant as you would if it had a cracked main.

Tremor, My vine ends don't show any damage, they just end in a cluster of about 6 small male flowers. No chemicals used hear, and I don't think any chemical drift occured.

Its got to be the heat as ive used very little to non chemicals this year and have laid back on the fertilizers, been mainly sticking with foilers of seaweed / mollases at very light doses.
