I,m new at this growing pumpkins . So here are a few questions . do I cut off the small leaves near the stump. what about the secondary vines how many do I leave on. Should I cut off the male flowers. Any more tips on triming planr's are more than weclome.........thanks guys

Do a search on secondary vines and you will find sevarl dozen ideas on links. It all depends on patch size and what you hope to accomplish overall. A basic well tried method is to cut off every other seconday and cut off every single vine that comes off a secondary.
