i,m seeing mosr of my pumpkins abort at about 10 days. i,m not fertilizing so i,m assuming these every day temperatures of 90-92 are too much for new fruit. any one else having this problem?

This year I have been seeing the same problem. Most of my pumpkins start out good for 5-7 days and then abort about day 10 (softball size). I'm not sure if it is the weather or my growing techniques. So far I'm only 2 for 11 sets. Did you use fresh pollen from the patch or pollen from the fridge. I pollinated most of mine from other growers pollen and might be getting poor results due to that. I doubt that is it but I can't rule it out.

tim --why arent you fertilzing---?? every one has had the blossom problem --its the heat -when the female is microscopic in side the vine it just plan cooking them--try ice bottles and a cooler to keep pollen cool after pollination --pollen die very quick in high temps craig
