I am going to try and grow (3) AG's on the smae plant. Does anyone have experience with this and results to add? I only have two AG's growing this year due to space. On one plant I am going to keep just one plant, on the other one I will try (3). The single is kicking butt, the other palnt that has (3), one might abort. Any thoughts?!

I grew 3 pumpkins last year on 1 plant (307 Little). The first was an early pollination on the main (531lbs) and 2 late genetic pollinations on secondaries (156lbs & 108lbs)
I don't think 3 is unreasonable if your not looking for a personal best.

In 2003 The 721 Holland '02 gave me a 733...525...and a 296. It was a great plant!

Last year I grew a 633.5, a 449 and an estimated 100 on an 804 Carlson seed. The 100 was an intentional "shock absorber" to protect the 633.5 in case of a heavy rain. The 449 was accidental;I had let vines cross and I thought that the 449 was on another plant.

If you grow three pumpkins on one plant, you should be able to combine their weights at the weigh-off :-)

I second that! Majority rule!

If I'm not mistaken, the one that had a pinhole for Joel was actually bigger than the 1026, and the 808 was picked a month early for the Puyallup fair. The 808 is the exact same cross as the 1026, but nobody ever grew it.

i cant follow the story on joel, but i do want to jump in and disagree with the statement, "I don't think 3 is unreasonable if your not looking for a personal best."

i had 3 last year on one plant. it wasnt my best plant and i knew i wanted something orange to give away so i left them on. i ended up with a personal best (915) on that plant with 2 others about 300+ lbs on secondaries in front of the fruit.

I grew 3 on the 1178Rivard last year.
613,407,388.
This year i have 3 plants.
One plant is growing 3 pumpkins again this year.
If all goes well (yeah right) the other should grow my weigh-off pumpkins.
Good luck.

Tom you better get back with the books, as I grew the 808 Holland back in 2001 and produced a 506.8 ( 808 x 1009.2 scherber clone ) , and 328.2 ( 808 holland x 1026 holland ) on the same plant in 350 sq. ft. their is also the teal /parr fruit which grew on the 808 the same year which was 800 something pounds ..The 808 is a great genetic , and I have highly considered my 328.2, but I gave all but the 4 seeds I have away and many growers have them...Happy growing.....JK

Reported, to me, at Niagara.....one, of my 710's, grew a 500, two 400's and five or six more that totaled, in excess, of a ton. To beat that it was an unmanaged plant just stuck, in the ground, to see what might evolve.

At our weigh off that would generate $750.00 broker bucks without considering the smaller ones. They were orange!
