Monty, the weights will vary by a great deal over the season. One day she might put on 10 lbs & the next 25, go back & check what happened over the course of the last few days. Was it cloudy 2 days back & then rained yesterday, if you keep a constant watch you will pick up on little things you can do to help this along. If it has been dry for the past week & you see a front moving in ,water a couple of days before the front comes thru so you can even out the gains a little ( and avoid a split pumpkin). If it has been cloudy for the past week & growth slows down don't get anxious & over fertilize to speed it up because when the sun finally does come out it will pick up naturally & again you want to try to get it to grow evenly & not split. I hoped this helped a little............Paul

very well said paul
thats why we try and limit the measuring to once a week
also, when you measure every day you can get a false reading just by not having the tape in the exact same location
