We use Decon in an old 6 foot dryer duct. Brigitte on the other hand likes to see the kill and uses a lot of mouse traps.

Cozmo the cat is great for getting rid of mice. He gets them all, in nearby fields and even from other people's property. He even brings them all home to show us.

Shannon's right, I like to kill em and see em dead(just like my dad likes to kill the moles). I set one or two traps by each fruit, just the cheap wood ones with the metal bar. I use a dab of peanut butter and stick a kernel of corn onto the PB. Works pretty well, but you gotta replace the bait if it rains.

I use something similar to "The Deb Sundstrum Ring of Death".

Catchmaster multiple mouse traps if you like to catch & release alive or torture your prey. Glue boards are good even after a rain if you use commercial grade. Snap traps, T-Rex, Warfarin baits,.....they're all good.
But nothing beats Zinc Phosphite tracking powder laced into a meal.

My experience has been that mice etc are not much of a problem until the pumpkin starts to ripen. Has anyone noted differently? If this is so, nothing is really needed until maybe some time in August unless you are reducing populations in advance. Marv

Here is a good mouse trap tip. Cut a small piece of nylon stocking, like panty hose, and place a dab of peanut butter on the small square of nylon and tie it to the trip mechanisim on the trap. When the mouse goes to get the bait, his little teeth get caught in the nylon and there ya go...mouse caught.

I made a couple triangle closed end boxes with mouse holes in the ends. Into those boxes I put "One Bite At A Time" rat poison. Mice, chippies and voles zip in, steal the pellets and take them home. Squirrels can not get in. Works good for me. I got the idea from commercial folks who use metal boxes the same way around industrial complexes.
My one neighbor is doing this too. We see hardly any of the small critters since setting up this program. This makes no traps, to clean and set.

Pets will eat a dead mouse just for the heck of it. If you use Decon and dont get the mouse before the pet does, it can often be a fatal mistake. ( just depends on amounts digested and length of time between)
