Subject: When is a Good Time to Spray for Insects

My female blossoms are ready to bloom and I noiticed a few cucumber beetles. Do I spray now or wait? Thanks!

ASAP, one cucumber beetle bite can cause bacterial wilt

If its a contact insecticide-----when the bug is there its a good time to spray. If its a systemic-----before the bug is there is a good time to spray.( obviously the length of time before the bug arrives is dependednt on the speed at which the systemic travels through the plant.)...hee-hee

deadeye whatever you spray with be sure to spray early evening
if yoou spray in the morning you run the risk of lots of leaf burn

When they start causing problems.. We havent sprayed for anything yet, there is a toll you will pay for using pesticides on your plants, and they are our last resort, try some of the cultural and organic prevents first. Of course we dont have Borers here, but have P.M, aphids, ect....
