sounds like a bacterial wilt type problem
yes, get the plant out of there and bleach the bottoms of your shoes after your done so you dont infect the rest of your patch
hopefully you have been spraying for disease or you might loose more plants

daconil is fine if used in a program that switches up to different fungicides rather than daconil by itself
daconil is a contact fungicide while clearys is a systemic, both are good for plant tissue diseases
manzate and kocide (copper)are used in defense from bacterial leaf blight and bacterial wilt
alliette is used for downey mildew and phytophthora these and other products can be reviewed and purchased if you visit rosecare.com
and these do not do anything for insect control that is a whole different ball game
at a minimum you need to apply liquid sevin to the plant to help fight off beetles and borers

insecticide won't do a thing for GSB or any other disease...use a copper solution (weak) and see if it has any effect

I have already pulled this plant.on all four of my plants I use sevin spray and orthanex weekly for bugs & grubs and for disease control I use balatine not sure on spelling right now & daconil also the orthanex has a fungicide in it. on the one with bacterial wilt I think it got to much water to much humidity & heat and not enough pruning all my fault I let it grow to thick with vines and leaves.going back to pruning every other vine next year. Thank you for your input. Craig
