Well the pumpkin patch has been planted with grass seed and mowed a couple times, I did leave enough unplanted area to plant one pumpkin if I get the urge some year. My rather large seed collection that I have built up over the past dozen or so years should be in someones hands who will plant and trade them around to get them planted. Best reasonable offer, trade or whatever. (I already have a puppy) Email or give me a call. Thanks.....CRAIG WEIR

i will take any seeds i can get that have known parents for next yrs season and even though im a newbie me and sis will treat your seeds with the utmost respect because to be granted a chance to grow a true giant to us would be a great honor and if you decide to choose us we will share with newbies who like us did not know much about genetics.

If you want a nice flower and herb garden - I've got dozens of varieties of hollyhock, Echinacea, burdock, lavender, mint (and mint, and mint - 6 varieties.....) and thousands of burgundy & greenleaf Cannas - that need to be thinned....

I've been reasonably successful (considering the drought..) with 16 GP plants - and love growing gourds for the school's in my area to use in art classes... Currently I 'self' all the pumpkins - since I've been studying which perform the best in our region. Looks like it may take at least 3-4 years to really see which varieties are consistant performers. Those varieties that aren't suitable - are given to growers in regions the variety prefers...

If you would consider a trade - I can send current pictures of the 'front herb gardens' for you to select the varieties that you wish me to send seeds/tubers from...

Craig sorry to hear that you are getting out of Pumpkin Growing. I remember the day your 1260 took the world record. It was my 1st year growing. The rest of you guys need to realise that Craig's collection is worth thousands of dollars. I know there is talk of a scholarship fund being set up for youth AG grower's. I am sure your collection would be well appreciated. This has to be a hard decision on your behalf. I am sure you will have the tallest greenest lawn in the neighborhood.

to all who replied to tell me they are sorry to hear I am retiring from growing pumpkins, rest assured that I will without doubt be growing them down the road a ways. I'll be a pumpkin growin' terror when I retire, but for now just taking a break and spending as much time as possible with the kids, (they grow faster than pumpkins) Thanks for all the kind words, CRAIG

Craig, what kind of trades are you looking for? I may be able to trade and promise to grow and trade to make sure they all get a chance to be grown and give seeds to new growers so that they have great genetics to get started in our hobby. Hope you have a nice break from growing, and I cant WAIT until you come back and show us how its done.

Thanks for the offer,
Jake Byrd
