How long does it usually take for a pumpkin to take off growing,I have three pumpkins so far that dont seem like they are doing anything, they arnt soft and dont seem to be aborting, they all still have a real nice gloss to em. Seems like they are taking alot longer then last year for sum reason.

EASY DOES IT,,,,:) My best have no real buds,,,but they are growing fine. Making roots and big leaves.
Watch the moon. IF you get nuttin by the change of the moon (ask a old farmer),then do a bloom boost(mild).
Today I soooooooo tempted to hit them with the "change up". Nope,,a mild trench wash with a balanced mild fert today.

brooks some drop real fast and after a couple days you can see a visual difference each day this is rare that a fruit is this agressive. if you get one you should have a basketball around day 13 or 14 and consider yourself very fortunate we had one like this ten years ago and had it not been for lack of disease control knowledge may have had a world record pumpkins that grow like that are special and only come around once in a blue moon

hmm, I've got two 'basketballs' on two different plants - fertilized 12-15 days ago... guess I should cull all the other smaller pumpkins on those two plants today?
Most of my other plants I started pollinating just last week - so nothing else that large..
