Once a female flower appears, how long should it take before it grows and is ready to pollinate. My first one at 10 ft has been there for almost 2 weeks and the little pumpkin under it is only the size of a marble? I have several 2 to 3 feet farther that are 4 days old and they are very small.

Mine take about 5 days. If your flowers are still that small that means they are aborting, so just wait for another one to come down the line. I have hear other growers say theirs takes up to 7-8 days. Good Luck!

drsoccer, Try to stay off the Fertilizers till after you have pollinated adding fertilizers while the females are appearing can cause aborts. that or too much water

Sounds like your inspecting your plants closely? I find that by pruning or snubbing growth at earliest detection make for good placement... I remove tendrils leaf and vine as early as possible! dbh

Add sweet organic fluff,,and,,peat, Plus a good dusting of bone/corn meal. Apply around vine and tendrils/roots. Do not "water in" the new soil,,, Mulch if you like. WATCH ph of mulch as well as soil.
