What are opinions on this subject. As I posted before, lost my stump on my 950, plant has survived so far:) I lost my first two right secondaries and about 100 sq foot of plant that came off of the stump area. This area is still bare. I have one secondary coming off of my new secondary main (lost main vine too) that I am directing back into this 100 sq foot area. It's the only vine on the plant that can come back into this area. If I let trieteries come off of this secondary vine to fill up the 100 sq foot area, will all of the growth put power back into my pumpkin or is this a bad idea? What are your ideas? Thanks, Jimmy

you may have heard the story but if it helps you i will repeat it

last year on our 1068 plant we lost the stump and most of the main up to within three and one half ft of the fruit

this happened when she was taping 100 lbs

all we had left for the season was two 15 ft sides before the fruit,( all pruned and dead ended ) a main and several sides after the fruit that ran for about 10 ft each

the plant figured itself out and adjusted to take its energy and nutrients for the most part, from vines after the fruit

we ended up weighing 919 and set a new fair record

also of note is that the off spring 919 seed in our patch this year is leading the pack in agressivness ,vine managability and early growth
