I've seen some hints of it on the boards here.
I would guess they would be less prone to wind damage.
Any other reasons for smaller leaf preference?
I'm guessing they may take the heat better, with less flagging. I seem to be observing this this yr, or maybe it's just a coincidence.
What genetics tend to have smaller leaves?
My 901 Hebb seems to have smaller leaves than the other three plants I have.

I prefer them, easier to get around in. More air flow. Genetics does play a part in leaf size to an extent, but the amount of sunlight also plays a role. Plants that get full sun all day will have smaller leaves than a plant that only gets partial sun.

Ive got 3 plants, 695 Landry squash 926 Hunt and 721.5 vincent. all plants get the same amount of sun all day long
695 and 721.5 vincent both have very large leafs and very thick pop can sized stumps, the 926 hunt on the other hand has smaller leafs and a smaller stump and main vine, all are growing at about the same rate and all have had the same treatment

My 658 Lovelace has small leaves. The largest leaf is maybe 12-14 inches across, while my 1097, 1367, and 905 all have huge leaves in the 2' diameter range.
