I have two plants that have mainvines around 7'. I've noticed that some of the secondaries are forming well, but some have seemed to have stalled at 1" long. For instance on one plant the first secondary is forming well, the second one is an inch long, and the third is forming well at maybe 6" long. You'd think the second secondary would be longer than the third. Do you think these slowpoke secondaries will take off? They don't look abnormal in any way, except for being slow. I'm wanting to remove every other secondary, but am hesitant on these plants, as I don't wan't to take off a good one, and leave a dud.

if they plants are only 7 feet long then i wouldn't worry too much yet. i get some dud secondaries too. the first few secondaries on my plants either seem to be huge or be duds. this year i'm noticing that i get a few stunted secondaries a few nodes before the females start showing up.
if you really want to get pruning, prune the duds and leave the strong ones. the plant won't know that you didn't prune EXACTLY every other secondary.
