Though most of the vines are a nice healthy dark green .. I do have one (625 Foss) that is showing some signs of a deficiency...
Growth is still good, young growth and leaves are nice deep green, vine is going yellow... I'm tending to think it's Magnesium.. Might be heat related as well - since this ONE vine seems to really droop during the heat of the day..
I've started using water soluable Miracle grow (general Veg. blend.. has all the macro & micro nutrients..)
What other things may be causing the vine - but not the leaves - to go yellow??? All other vines & veg crops are doing well in the same soil...

I am always happy if all my vines are yellow and not green. I bet your leaf stalks and tendrils on this plant are also yellow or at least partially yellow.

it seems to me that the plants that have yellow vines tend to produce very orange pumpkins. doesn't sound like any deficiency to me

It is very normal to have plants with yellow vines. The 625 Foss was a from a 766 Davis x open (likely a self). and was a very light pumpkin. Thanks for growing those Foss pumpkins, keep me up todate on how they do. Bill

hmmm... thanks for the info! I just KNEW I had some weird defincency and have been going through the text books looking for the micronutrient that might be missing! And yes, the leaf stalks are also yellow...
**grin** But I'm sure the GP plants didn't mind the additional Miracle grow added to their pesticide spray!
I'm glad I'm on this board with such knowleagable folks! I've never dealt with a squash, gourd or melon with yellow vines - and that's the personal experience I'm going by with these pumpkins!
Bill: Is the 625 known for yellow vines? Can I expect any further surprises with the 265 as well? I do have another 625 - but it's got green vines..
