My plant is growing very well, and vining nicely, however, it appears to me that the main vine may be twisted or even upside down. I have tap roots (excuse the improper term) growing upwards from the leaf nodes, and the leaf stalks begin on the underside of the vine and then curl upwards, as if the main is upside down. Am I over-reacting or is this a common thing...?

A root often grows out of the top as well as the bottom of the vine. Relax....and cover it with soil.

sometimes the wind tips them over. . .if you don't notice this and right them, they may look as you described. If leaves are already growing upward. . .best leave it be, and cover roots a bit with dirt.
