I just don't get it. Sprayed Sevin weeks ago, and there has been no Cuke beetles, no evidence what so ever of any Svb's. And there appears to be no insects on my leaves at all, but I am still getting holes in leaves, especially new ones. Everytime I visit my patch the new leaves just opening up will get a small tear in it or a hole somewhere, The older leaves are mangled from insect damage before (Cuke beetles) and have main veins broken and are hanging limp. These holes on the new leaves don't have really any chew marks, but some look like there was chewing on them. I have had windy days were some of the leaves were wiped around a bit, and there is a very high amount of damselflies around my plants, and even dragonflies. If there around that means some kind of pest must be around. There is also house flies around my plants and they always rest on the leaves, could they be the pests? Or is this a stress or nutrient definciency causing tears?

Sevin lasts 10-14 days at most. Combine this fact with the growth rate of an AG & you need to apply every 7 days.

Go out at midnight with a flashlight. You may see slugs at work.

snails are a big problem for me this year.... every plant had about a dozen of them "circling", even in the daytime smooching along even on the outside of my Floating Row Cover greenhouses....then along came "Bug Geta" Snail and Slug killer. BOINK! hey, sprinkle some of this all the way around each of your plants and also, as long as there is no reaction potential between the two, do the weekly Sevin application. i recall reading one of those labels recently; yes, every week. eric
