I don't know about anybody else but, I think I am the worst thing that gets into the patch. Every time I go out there I think of somthing stupid to do. The wind and the bugs are bad but I am alot worse. If I would just leave well enough alone I would be alot better. Is this a Rookie disease or is it everlasting?

I've finally figured out that if you take some 5/16" dowel rod(Lowe's) and "x" them over the main and secondary vines, you can minimize wind damage. Bury you vine every 3 feet or so around a leaf axel. This will also promote rooting.

Self control is what its all about. this morning, i moved my hand toward the growing tip of one of my plants ( i was going to look for potential females), then i stopped myself, and basically said "hey dope, its early in the morning, if you move the main even the slightest, you could break it" (ive done this before), then i left well enough alone. i do alot of talking to myself in the patch during situations like that! LOL

I talk to myself AND the plants. Is that weird? I find if I'm busy with other stuff in my life, I don't dilly dally in the patch as much. This summer is the first time I've had a full time job, and I find that I manage my time in the patch a lot better. I have a list of stuff to get done, and I do it. I don't have as much extra time to putz around looking at vine tips for females, or screwing up stuff due to my own stupidity. He he. I know exactly what you mean though.

My dog Cujo started following me into the patch. I have to watch her but I still think I am worse.
