My patch is small, about 20 by 24. I have my main plant now at 8 ft and a second which I have cut all secondaries. I am going to use it to pollinate one pumpkin on my main plant and self pollinate the other. If I pollinate the first on the main past 10 ft., where should I pollinate the second on a secondary? Should it be a secondary past the first one or does it matter?

Big Kahuna 26

Ontario, Canada.

It depends on why you want to pollinate a second flower.

Shock absorbers are usually set on side vines and are allowed to grow as conditions demand. The side vine fruit can also be severed vine and all to keep it growing separately from the mother plant

Backup fruit are usually set on the main and culled at basket ball size. simply select the fastest grower and cull the weakest link.

Genetic fruit can be set on sides and kept at least 50 days to gather viable seeds.
