Gonna be using Compass this year as a fungicide along with a few other growers in the area. Anyone know what the application rate is? I heard through the grape vine it's best to start out with five gallons of water pre-mix it then from there fill up the old sprayer, any thoughts would help. I went to law school because I sucked at math!! LOL

That is not neccessary but you really should give us the label rate so we don't need your services or wrath for mal-practice. :)

I figured it up, for a friend. Per his label rate it worked out like this, in the powder or granular form. When the pathegons are present 1/8 teaspoon per gallon. As a prevent application 1/2 of 1/8 teaspoon full per gallon. Do not overuse this product. This was the foliar rate we arrived at.

We are seeing real hot weather, in the Northeast. Applications, of anything, should be late afternoon or very early AM.

The full normal range for Compass is 1-4 oz per 100 gals.
There are 28 grams in an ounce so 28-102 grams per 100.
Therefore .28-1 gram per gallon.

Bayer was producing small red plastic spoons that were calibrated to 1 & 2 grams at 2 reference points. I distributed the last of the units they gave me early last year.

I have recently used the one I kept for myself with the aid of a highly accurate digital scale & found it to hold only .5 grams of Heritage when full. So I can't help but wonder if it was very accurate with Compass. We'll find out when I rotate over to Compass later in the year. It is unlikely that both products have the same bulk density. But they can't be awfully far from each other either.

Do make sure to rotate Compass with some other MOA fungicides. No more than 2 consecutive strobilurin fungicide applications should ever be made in a row as we saw Strobilurin resistent Powdery Mildew in New York State last summer.

Oh...There is also a root drench rate for Rhizoctonia. One half oz (14 grams) in 100 gallons (.14 grams per gallon) used to wet one half of the soil media??? This is primarly a bedding & container application for greenhouse operators. I don't think this treatment has ever been tested on AGs.

Thanks for the help all. I did a little Google search also and found this out for application. 1/2 teaspoon per 8 gallons for prevent, 1 teaspoon per 8 gallons for eradicate. Here is the website stating the above if all interested. http://www.primaryproducts.com/files/catalog/smaterials1.htm

John.......my buddy only needed a gallon of spray material thus your discovery broken down, to a measuring devise, that is commonly available and understood.

I find that few if any of my associates can deal with proper usage if the measuring gets to involved.
