well I got all my vines down via cut in half coat hangers ( thanks Brooks worked awsome)
The problem I face now is from the point were the vine did lay down and were the stump is its like a bridge, am I best off placeing some styro-foam under this area as it looks like a nice wind could possibly snap it. or would you just mound dirt up around the stump and between the "bridge" of the vine?
My vines are close to 5 ft on my best plant and the secondarys are starting to shoot last year I burried my vine from the stump out and never got any secondarys till later out on the main vine, but this year id prefer not to burry my vines. as i would like to grow my front plants out in an x mas tree pattern as both plants are growing in correct direction and have about 40 ft before they run out of room and i would like to grow them to there fullest. thanks

Dave, I pile dirt under it as best I can to the point I think it wont break off.

a round can, log, or such usually works well if you find something round and of the right size...
