When pumpkin is set, what is the best "placing" of the pumpkin? Other words, I hear in the "V" is the best place?

The best place to "set" your pumpkin is on the double pallet next to "winner" sign....usually to the left of the second place pumpkin and to the right of the third place pumpkin.

90 degress (or as close as you can get it ) off the main
many ways to accomplish this unless you get one of those that wants to grow in line with the main in this case cut it off and move down the line
very small pumpkins can be moved with a paint mixer stick and small piece of sponge pressing a little each day in the direction you desire ( the sponge will not put a flat spot on the side of your pumpkin where only a flat hard surface would )
once the fruit is cantelope size you can cut a tap root or two and pull slightly away and to the direction you need to get the 90 degrees ( gently once its warmed up, never real early in the a.m.)
