The recent warm spell has left a bog behind in its wake.

Rain, Rain and more rain......beginning last Thurs we got here in town well over 9" of rain. Seven severe thunder storms one with hail and funnel clouds on three separate days with two touch downs close by.

My plants have taken a beating. Four of seven plants are damaged pretty good. Three of five wind screens broke during the height of yesterdays 5 pm storm.

The boost to vine growth this week was welcome though. Nine days this month above 30*c has been a very nice run. Now all mother nature needs to work on is consistency. TOO DRY, followed by TOO HOT then TOO WET. What next TOO COOL.......

I lost a few leaves as well. I hope your plants are doing better now.

Phil the weather went in the tank quicker than the "Live 8 Concert" was organised in Barrie. I was right "TOO COOL" is now with us. Heaven help my plant crowns because there is so water in my patches. The plants should recover quickly. I'm glad that I decided to go with extra plants. Having a couple of spare plants is a key factor with this weather. "Too DRY" needs to come back, We have gotten another 1.5" in the last two days. We managed to get five innings in last night before the skies opened up again. Should have been rained out......Rats.......We got creamed 8 - zip.
