If I kept a diary at BP this would be today's entry: Thundershowers are upon us. We are getting 58 mph winds. Yes 58 mph. I did not listen to docgipe, kahuna, southern, Martin Reiss, Tremor, or the several others that advised me to put up protection from wind. So now with trees snapping in half across the street, through thunder and lightning and rain that hurts when it hits you in the face, I had to save my pumpkin vine. I found in the basement, a 3'x2'x2' plywood box. Though it was a little heavy I carried it through the adverse weather to my larger pumpkin vine. I tripped and it slipped out of my hands where it crashed on the main vine. I do not know how much damage right now but I will check in the morning to see if the plant survived.

Ouch, thats my worst fear, doing damage myself. Just today we here in Ontario were having gusts up to 50 km/h, and boy were my plants getting hurt when I got back from school. I quickly tossed my cold frames on top. After I went home to get water and fertilizer mix, and when I got back one of them that was lifted slightly fell and slid right on top of my 812 Landry's main vine! But it was all good, and no damage. Wind is now my biggest enemy. Cover them if you get crazy wind. Hope your plants did okay rootbeermaker!

My apologies to kyle and all the others in Canada and every other place that uses the metric system. 58 miles per hour converts to 93 Km/h. Kyle, Thanks and I hope your pumpkins work out well. We shall see in the morning what shape mine are in. Good luck Kyle and grow them big this year.

Well the main vine appears to be undamaged. We only lost one leaf that was broken during that near-disaster.
