I went out this evening to close up my greenhouses and noticed that the main vine on my 1104 Hester had "crimped" over the X support stakes I had placed under it about 8 inches from the stem. There was about 2 feet of main beyond the support and was growing fast. I straightened it out and supported it with 2 more bamboo stakes. All the leaves beyond the crimp look good. I just hope I haven't wiped out my main vine. Any suggestions?

sometimes this happens, the vine kind of gets a kink in it, your vine will be fine. Sometimes the vine can split or tear lengthwise when this happens too, just paste any tears with a fungicide like sulfer. Your main should continue growing normal with no adverse affects on the plant or pumpkin growth. Jimmy
