Question when a pumpkin oozes from stem and you cover it with captain paste, you stop the oozing. Will the pumpkin start to gain in size after this. thanks mark

Mark~ the oozing does not seem to hinder growth in any way, i think its just simply a way of the pumpkin allowing itself to strech very quickly at really fast sudden growth, if that made any sense.

I had tiny splits in the stem that oozed for a day or two an then dried up. It did not seem to slow the growth at all.

During peak growth, my pumpkins do the same thing. I smear surfboard wax around the stem and that seems to stop it quick!
