I Just killed one hopefully two Vine Borers that was mating on the ground next to my plants,I was lucky I was spraying my plants at the time with Triazicide and was able to squirt them both while they was "getting it on" so to speak. I drenched them with Triazicide and stunned them,I crushed the one but the other one got away while I was drenching it. Isnt it to early for these Borers, sheshhhhhhh!! I have a picture in my Diary of the Borer(left of picture) and there is another bug that I Killed that looks like a borer but I'm not sure what it is. Any one know what the bug is on the right of the picture?
I just posted the pics so it might take a while for them to show up.

The One On the left is not a Vine Borer...Its lacking the fuzzy antennae. Along with the fuzzy legs and the tell tale Orange markings on the running down them. Its pretty close looking though.

This is one of the best photos I could find online.

I can not tell by the photo how many segments the body has. It almost looks like a newly emerged DragonFly Larvae. Can you take a picture of it on a piece of white paper, with the wings and legs spread out and note any colors..:)

WHEWWWWWWW, thanks Guys, and sorry about that, I could have sworn it was a vineborer because of the reading I read about some will have sum white in the lower end instead of the red .
Shannon, its main color is black with the exact same kind of wings as the vine borer, near the head its orange redish in color.White specs in each of the lower segments, there is about 6 or 7 segments.

Don't Kill the Scorpion Flies they are predators of Aphids and other small bugs...All bugs are not bad

VB's come out mid-June typically and if the temps are still cool in your area, it's doubtful they're out early.

900 growing degree days is when they will arrive. Watch the roadside for the Chicory to bloom.
