Is it normal to have side vines grow side vines?
Also my plant is trying to grow more pumpkins on the side vines then the main, is this normal

They are called tertiaries (if that is spelled right) and yes they are normal and take the most time to remove because the plant makes a bunch of them. You get more pumpkins on the side vines because there are more side vines, but you should still get them on the main.

Im farly new still, 2nd real yr! but i have learned, please- please, dont get tempted to let 3rd stage growth-grow!or soon youll be super supprized at how the hole patch will explode with growth & will be out of control!!PLUSS that thick growth will cause powdery mildew (depending on where you live )just let secondarys go out 12 ft to 14 ft per side, then cut & bury!! good luck

What if?
What if ya left two main vines, some secondaries and a few tertiaries. Sorta like a real branch but allow no leaf to touch or be more than 15 feet from the sink(fruit).
