With all this rain we have had in NH and cool temps, I kept the hoop houses closed for the last 5 days. I can't see any mold growing but it smells musty. Do I have any worries here???

Is it possible that it's the plastic that smells? I didn't notice any strong plastic smell in my poly house. But, I've heard others mention it. And, I imagine that heat would intensify the odour.

Musty...is that all...Mine Smells like Rotten Fish and Rabbit Turds, with the slight Aroma of Chicken Manure from the brooder pen for the broiler chicks....Good Thing I have no sense of smell...Although I have seen other peoples reactions when they step inside.

First thing. Its good to keep warmth in your hoophouse, but you need FRESH AIR. In winter time the house is all closed up to stay warm. When it warms up the house stinks so you open the windows in the house and then it smells fresh. By putting bricks on one side of the hoophouse or lifting it up just a bit, will get you the fresh air you need and cure that musty smell, just like a house after winter.
