Well I came home today, looked out into the patch and saw the hoophouse with my 898 Knauss in it ripped wide open. The plant was wipping around in the wind so bad I was afraid to go out and check. Very good damage to the leaves. One completely ripped off. I applied Captan to the damage. I hope she makes it. Does not look good......

I was apprehensive when I awoke this morning, not having driven a dozen tomatoe stakes around the hoop house as I've done in the past with nasty weather forebodings...but it was still there...yeah! You'll rebound Ray!

Nurse her back to health with a dilute solution of seaweed/ Superthrive in a spray bottle. A couple drops of liquid seaweed or pinch of powder and 1 drop of Superthrive. Spray your plant every morning and evening and pour the rest onto the roots for 2 weeks. You won't need Captan because seaweed prevents diseases.

If the plants had out grown the hoop houses by now......We'd have no plants! 50 knot winds here still....CRAZY Good luck to all.

Same wind and rain here as Ray, tough on the plants. Id say Im 2 weeks behind normal. I do have heaters going so the plants are kept warm and grow alittle bit each day. Hurray for polycarb( rigid) green house material

keep fighting the good fight brothers, and do what it takes. there is sunshine and warm temps around the bend in 2 or 3 days for you guys from what the weather channel says. for little plants, eventhough it will shade the plants, clothes baskets with a cinder block on top and maybe stakes too with the high winds can help ease the burden on the plants. also you can thread some wire and plastic visqeen to the clothes basket with the aid of duct tape at every place that you put a hole in the visqueen where you can thread the wire or rope connections. this was my only savior 3 years ago when we had a sustained wind storm with consistent 45 mph gusts for almost 2 days. its almost like a mini strudy hoop house. just watch out for when the sun comes back out to remove some of the plastic for ventilation.

Last night had a 58 mile an hour wind gust at the patch, temp at 45 and raining like hell!! Perfect conditions for the plants. Who said a pumpkin would not grow in the winter?

Very windy here today, destroyed my 60ft by 15 ft greenhouse with all my plants in it, Holly's 695's main vine was kinked, the rest of them have lots of very beat up leaves. Ironic it gets her plant but non of mine.

Boy, I was laying awake at night because we were having 25-30mph winds! I know, I'll click off now. I really feel for everyone, must be hard to stand up if you have little feet!

I nailed two 2x4's to each side of the hoop house after being warned of the tendency to become airborne. Glad I did. Hopefully June will bring some nice weather. May forgot to.

The 1.5x1.5 1/8" STEEL square tube I builf the base out of my hoop house with it paying off nicely, 50mph gusts today and it didn't even budge them a bit (though the 1/2 PVC "hoops" were.
