Does any one use malathion!
I just bought a gallon of 56% of malathion 5 EC, any opinions on usage and dilution ratios?
I am guessing at one tablespoon per gallon.

Why guess? Use the label or go on line and find the absolute correct label data.

Squash & Cucumbers:(1 - days to harvest)
Aphids, Pickleworms, Spider Mites - 1 1/2 - 2 pints per acre. Squash Vine Borer - 3 pints per acre. Cucumber beetle, Leaf miner - 2 pints per acre. Do not apply to cucumbers (or Squash) unless plants are dry.
Aerial applications may be made in 10 gallons of water per acre. Mist blower rates would be made this way. Most ground applications (what we do) are made from compressed air sprayers like Spray Docs or Solo-type backpack sprayers in 40 gallons of water per acre.
If we assume the latter (backpack or hand sprayer), then 1 gallon would treat 1000 sq ft. Therefore the amount to put in a gallon would range from 1/2 - 1 ounce. 1 tablespoon is a half ounce.
Now go read the entire label anyway since it also contains all the safety information you need to know about but I don't have time to type here.
