Lets try and keep the grower diary submissions on topic please. We have been very lenient so far this year. Please only post photos that some how relate to pumpkin/squash growing. Thanks, Ken.

If they keep it up... boot em off. Seriously. They are wasting everyone elses' time and hogging up space on the server. I come here for Ag related stuff.
Not homecomings, parades, picts of your dogs, kids, trucks. If you want to show that stuff then just start your own web page and post a link, some folks have good sites that are along these lines. I have seen 'em. Some folks here have 100+ post in their diary and its mid may...... just my thoughts... keep up the good work Ken D.

Feel free to delete this If I'm out of line.

Hip hip hotti to tooti! Let's control now and not upset more later.

If you are taking a Pumpkin, to the Prom, it sounds like a personal problem between the ears or you just arrived at 12:01 AM. LMAO

i wanted to say thanks to ken and john for going through all of our stuff all the time. i have 12 pics.... 3 unrelated to pumpkins (i liked the canoe and heart!!). i'm truly sory. i actually enjoy seeing a LITTLE bit of personal stuff to get to know the growers; it would get boring just seeing seedlings this time of yr. lol.

but i agree, too much is overkill.

I've got to agree!! There are some grower diaries that I just don't look at anymore. Sorry but I don't care about the Seattle basketball team or the local Shriners parade....all good stuff but a waste of space on this site.

i like seattle, shriners and pumpkins (among other things). hope i did not waste too much space by saying that. and if i did, then some of us really need to look back at our own entries. it is amazing how some people will jump on a band wagon.

she is a cutie Ben!

Way to go Tremors, now look what you've done. But I did like the pictures about your greenhouse fans etc., especially your thermostat, where did you get it and how much.

I was about to say, "Forget pumpkins, stick to prom dates!", but I thought better of it...

We are just saying "please rein it in a little". We approved each and every one of the pictures you see here. We try and let people be creative with their own diaries and stray off topic once in awhile (some of the accuses for going off topic are entertaining). But this IS a pumpkin website after all. No offense to your pictures, some of them are quite good or cute or whatever just too far off topic.

Sorry if I posted things that people dont like to see,and thanks Ken,and John for allowing it sincerly. I Really am.
From now on I will consult my cousin Robert who is the professor of botany at CO. State University. for future posts. Such as Erysiphales of ascomycetous fungi that are parasites on the surfaces of higher plants, and produce closed fruiting bodies...This is a easy one for most the rest will have to just look it up. Sorry Again. Rog.

LOVED the prom pics ben !!!!!!!!!!! (cant believe i didnt see them till tonight).....see, take out pics like prom and what would we know about poor ben ?? besides his subaru of course (which was also non-related). moderation is the key. cant eliminate all the personal things!

The intent isn't to de-personalize the diaries or BigPumpkins. But folks have no idea the amount of stuff that showed up lately because it was never posted. How can one comment on content if one has never even seen it?

Like Ken, I agree that occasional OT entries are fun if they're in good taste.

The *PUMPKIN* greenhouse ventilator & controller for Eddy:

Grainger....Dayton Model # 2C713....$176.75

http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/productdetail.jsp?xi=xi&ItemId=1611760525&ccitem=

Line Voltage Thermostat:

Grainger....Dayton Model # 2E206....$48.65

http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/productdetail.jsp?xi=xi&ItemId=1611632369&ccitem=

Both can be had elsewhere cheaper. But Grainger stocks all this stuff locally & I get a 15% discount.

The louvered vent (not pictured) is a 16" square plastic unit from Home Depot that cost about $18.00. It opens by itself when the exhaust fans kicks on & creates a vacuum in the greenhouse. When the temps fall & the fan kicks off & the louvers close. Simple, cheap & effective.

I'll agree, save the diaries for pumpkin related stuff. Some of the personal entry's are fun, but gets old quick! If you want to have a personal blog: http://www.blogger.com/tour_pub.g
Its free also. Hey, if you start one, post the link (Under non-related... of course)I'm sure alot of us would enjoy reading them.
