Does anyone know what the largest pumpkin ever grown with no care is? Meaning No burying vines, No ferts, No watering other than rain, No pruning, Moderate insect protection, etc. I understand the Barber 730 in 91 was grown with very little care? Possibly the Smith 703 squash no vine burying? I may try to grow a couple this season with little care, only the necessities d/t pressed time and keep it fun.

I tried that last year, the no care way,but it never seems to end up that way. After it started growing I couldnt leave it alone LOL.I ended up pruning, bury the vines, the whole kit and kabootle!

a "no care plant" is a lot like a "no care house and yard"
no wants to look at it but, you have to because you live there
i had heard that several years back len s. grew a 1,000 pounder with next to no care because he was building a house
so who knows??
