What do you all think about the ASSM., after drowning my first set of seeds, I tried it sunday, and today they popped up. Any down side?

I use it and it has worked everytime with success! There are many things that could go wrong though. You could damage the seedling when picking off the shell, breaking the point off the embryo, making it easier for disease to take over, and maybe in the end when the plant is mature it won't be as strong, or missing something that the seed would offer when the seeling is emerging. I don't thats just my guess. Anyways I love it and it cuts out 2 to even 6 days off of waiting for germination by seed.

I had lots of seeds rot last year went to the advanced method and almost 100% succsess the worst part is the sweatting you do takeing the seed apart I have had the cots split apart when soaking and one will fall of

just have to file all around the tip so that the material is receptive to being picked-away at. also, the seed is in two halves so you haLVE to try to pick from exactly the half you are trying to pick away---i agree it can be nerve-wracking until you are good at it but how would i know? lol-eric
