My 2 plants are outside now in the greenhouse with heating cables and a ceramic heater. The temps are going to range from 45 to 62 with no sun for the next 2 or 3 days. I was thinking about hanging a grow light. Yes or no?

I would say No. The suns rays are 10 times as brighter than any light made. Even on a cloudy day you are still receiving alot of natural light.

I am using a red heat lamp and a blue flood light in each hothouse this year. I'm getting vine growth of 1" to 2" each evening, in addition to the vine growth during the day. In past years, I haven't gotten any growth at night. I think the lights are very helpful to my plants.

if you do use grow lights, it is not going to hurt. shannon is right on with the sunshine though. i work outdoors for a living and even on a cloudy 50 degree day this time of year, i will still get more color than i care for with my fair skin. the sun is very strong right now and getting higher in the sky every day until june 21st. i love technology and if you feel it will help keep your plants growing consistently, then set up the lights. if you do use them, the most important thing will be to make sure they are secured tightly with good enough supports to make it through the storms that are going to be arriving here in illinois and indiana tonight sometime and into tomorrow as well. it is the same violent line that dropped the baseball size hail in nebraska yesterday that was so abundant they had to plow some hail covered roads. the system has lost some strength, but the last thing you need is to wake up with the lights laying on the plants.
