Hey folks,
I was wondering if it is to late to start my 707 Toftness for a fair in early October. I live in NC, so it will we warm enough for it to mature pretty fast.
Thanks, Jake

Shouldn't be. If the weather goes good throughout the summer you could still get a big one.

I agree. Be sure to shade the fruit at the least.

Just seems like some seeds take forever to germinate. Patience. Something that I lack in gardening and it cost me one already.

I strongly advise you to use the advanced seed starting method. If you are carefull you can remove the seed shell and have a seed germinated within 2 days! Go to the How to... link and go to the Advanced Seed starting method and learn how. I have used it on all my seeds without trouble, and growers that started a week before me, I am caught up with them. Good Luck!

Jake...you are in North Carolina. I bet you'll get 60 days of fruit growth max...you have PLENTY of time.

I agree, you have PLENTY of time, no need for advanced seed starting method. The heat here will mature your fruit relatively quick, you'll be fine. I just started my seeds a few days ago and I'm at 3500' elevation.....every year when I start at the beginning of May, I end up with little to no growth the last 2 weeks of September.
