I planted 5 AG after I germinated in pots inside. The first leaves showed and I put in ground. How do I know which way these girls will grow? I have limited area to grow and direction is important.

the first two leaves that open when it first comes out of the ground are cot leaves,do not count them, the leaf that comes out between your cot leaves next is your first true leaf,so what ever way you want your vine to run out in your patch, make sure you plant it in the ground opposite the first true leaf.

As previous posts have mentioned ..this is a guide not a law..I've seen the stem turn in the ground after planting..Thought I just made a mistake the first year then I took pictures after planting and they will turn or go the opposite way if they want..but generally speaking opposite the first true is pretty good..GrowEmBig!

This year, my 1180 Daletas vine is running at a 90 degree angle to the first true leaf. So, not always will it be 180 degrees the opposite direction of the first true leaf.

If the vine goes in the wrong way You can train it in the direction you want it to go. Using bambo sticks or dowel's to train the vine. Train the vine during the day to slowly turn about 2 to 3 degeee's a day on about a 15 degree radius
