I think that my garden has became the newest cat box hang-out spot....they all sit out and do there thing in my patch.
they probably have cell-phones too...call there buddies and invite them over!...danggggcats!
I like cats...just not im my patch's.
I have 2 cats myself and now I think that they have gotten to know every-other cat in the area....they all think its the newest biggest cat litter box in town. I noticed, the end of last summer that there were "droppings" in the pumpkin patch...now there is dump-truck load full's in my patch....
is this beneficial to my soil????? or should I start charging a small fee to enter?
Now, if they have to "pay" to enter....then they are not gonna like it very much....what can I use to discourage them from entering....besides a gun!
remember...I live right behind an elementary school and so it has to be semi-safe for the environment....well school kids anyways.
anyone have any suggestions?

m-80 when cats are in area. This will scare the crap out of them and discourage them from coming back to your patch.

Here we can buy a bottle of granular mixture called
"Critter Ridder" . You sprinkal it around the edge of the patch, on a sunny warm day and it keeps them out of your patch. It lasts about a month then u repeat as needed. eventually they get the hint and you wont need to use it any more. Works for rabbits, ground hogs and other critters too. I had a ground hog close to my patch. It has since packed up and moved on since using the product. worked good for me.

When the patch is teeming with a worm farm you have to get rid of the birds before you can get rid of the cats..And then there is the matter of the squirrels, racoons, skunks, snakes, foxes, mountain lions..etc..lol....seems like the fun never ends.....

Jay35 is correct, Last year I was haveing problems with
coons, cats, rabbits, I bought some of that "critter Ridder" and once a week i would walk around the entire patch and spread it out. This stuff really works, wear gloves it stinks!! LOL

Same problem here... 2 new "steamers" this morning. I tried a type of cat repellant last year and it didn't work at all. I have had to cover the seedlings, planting area with chicken wire to keep them from diging up the seeds.

I have a five month old cat and he thinks the garden is the world's largest litter box also. Is this good or bad?

I think any animal like a wild stray cat belongs in an earthen home aproximately two feet long, by at least ten inches deep. One would not want to not have enough space.

Pet cats are another story. Would anyone believe that the cat licking and being smooched, by children, would not be a ready natural contact, for any pathegons that may exist? Maybe someone uses baby wipes, on the cat, each time it squats but I doubt that. Therefor the cat using the soft patch earth deposits some value and normally covers it so the bacteria can finish the job. I'm not a cat lover, by any means, but I think to much is made over one that works daily, to give you a better patch.

When I was a kid we had sandboxes, to play in. Frequently we had to remove deposits. However if it rained a percentage, of the deposit, was leached into the sand. Maybe that is what gave me the curly kid like hair. Perhaps it was not the bread crusts after all.
