Hey, I need another seedling heat mat and was just wondering if anyone has any that they don't use anymore that they would sell me. If not, I'll buy a new one. Just thought I'd check w/ you guys first! Email or post here, thanks.

Check on ebay for an old waterbed heater i have used one all spring for starting plants and it works wonderfull. $15 on ebay you have to play with the temp to get it set but once thats over your good to go and sure beats the $40 or more for most mats

I've used a heating pad for several years and it works great. It has a "high" "medium" and "low" settings. the Medium setting achieves about 83 degrees with a styrofoam cooler I use as an incubator. High setting put it over 90 degrees which I was not comfortably with.

Hey Brigg,
I was thinking about trying them hand warmers that come in a package of two that you have to shake-em to activate the heat. they last anywhere from 12 to 15 hours, How ya think they would work?

they're a buck for a two pack. they last UP to 12 hours. I know they don't last anywhere near that long when I'm deer hunting!
one dollar....12 hours... you'd need several to warm the same amount as a heat pad. do the math... i don't think it's worth it. you'd be spending a lot!
