My first year growing AG's and I was chomping at the bit to get started. Transplanted two plants to the garden 2 weeks ago and built a 3' x 4' wide by 4' tall greenhouse of sorts around it. When it warmed up last week, I cut a 6" square vent hole on the south side and the plants did fine. They were putting on their second true leaves and looked very thick and healthy.
Anyway...decided to go fishing this past weekend and didn't realize it was to get to 80 degrees! When I got home Sunday evening both plants looked prety sad. They were brown arond the edges and very withered. I watered them liberally and cut another big vent hole for today's heat.
My questions are:
Should I lose these plants and germinate some more seeds to start over or should I keep nurturing these poor critters and hope they re-bound?
Did I start way too early here in Kansas City?

germinate new ones, and nurture the older ones. you can always plant the younger ones somewhere else, or if you put them in the ground next to the older ones, you can snip them off at the base if the older ones get healthy again.

Well, one of the plants is a goner, but the other one is doing very well. It's about to drop the first two seed leaves (is there an official name for them?), has two nice leaves and looks like it is ready to send out a vine . Thanks for the advice...I might just start another plant or two as a backup.
