If I were to use four windows as four sides and a removeable window ontop would that make a good cold frame? (Each window is about 3'X 3')

I use something similar. The window on top is a sliding one and I can open it just as much as I need too. it worked great last year. Doeski

my learning experience with windows for cold frames...... make sure you keep an eye on it even during over cast days! the glass will magnify the sun which equals burning...I learned the hard way..always romove or open up the top panel so the sun won't do her deed. also 3x3??? you might want to go 6x3 so the plant won't out grow it before the risk of frost is over...you never know!!!

Watch your temperatures. You can mix lime and water to make a white greenhouse type window glaze to cool it if need be. Wind can take down the best of them....so anchor it good.
